This type of ball bearing is recommended while alignment of the shaft and housing is difficult and the shaft may also flex. the outer ring has a round raceway and its middle of curvature coincides with that of the bearing; therefore, the axis of the internal ring, balls and cage can deflect to a degree across the bearing center. pressed metallic cages are commonly used. because the contact attitude is small, the axial load capacity is low. the permissible dynamic misalignment is about 0.07 to zero.12 radian (four to 7 levels) below normal masses.
But, relying on the surrounding structure, such an attitude might not be viable.
